This metallic glass print is a beautiful and immersive look at a rural landscape. It captures a moment of tranquil pastoral life, where the rolling hills and gentle movement of cattle create a sense of deep peace. The absence of a single, central subject invites the viewer's eye to wander and appreciate the full, sweeping vista.
This photograph was taken in the rolling hills of the Eungella Hinterland near Broken River. The farm practices rotational grazing, a system where the cows are moved from one paddock to the next, allowing the land to rest and regenerate. Here, a number of cows can be seen crossing the top of one hill in this multi-ridged vista, with moody clouds above and rainforest behind and in front of them. It's a serene snapshot of a peaceful rural life.
What I love most about this metallic glass print is the incredible detail captured throughout the huge image, which makes it feel like a fun puzzle for your eyes. There isn't a central focus or subject, and the beautiful landscape with the meandering cows creates a wonderfully rural, peaceful, and pretty scene. It’s a perfect freeze-frame of a grazing paradise.
