Shot in the Eungella hinterland, I sat with this little one for a while. We both soaked up the sun as its mother wandered off in the background, curious and unbothered. The paddock was soft with green grass, and the Calf seemed perfectly content, gazing and dozing as the breeze moved through the hills.
What I love most about this metallic glass print is the depth of field that lets the rolling hills dissolve behind the subject while clover and pasture textures sparkle in the foreground. The Calf is perfectly in focus, a slender band of clarity that pulls your eye and centres the whole composition. I also love the gentle rural Australiana mood.
