I shot this off the North Queensland coast near Cape Gloucester, just south of Bowen, during a holiday in the region. The island’s rugged outline against tropical waters and perfect weather conditions called out for an aerial perspective, I couldn’t resist capturing that sense of discovery and calm all at once.

What I love most is how the water shifts from turquoise to deeper cerulean in one seamless gradient, as if nature itself painted an ombré; the horizon’s clean line where sea meets sky brings a light, uncluttered calm; and that tiny patch of green and rock makes you wonder what it would feel like to set foot there and explore its hidden corners.
